Tatarstan President takes part in the opening of a new swimming pool in Mamadysh

n August 8, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of a new swimming pool in Mamadysh. As many as seven new covered swimming facilities have been opened in Tatarstan, including Apastovo, Verkhny Uslon, Nizhnekamsk, Pestretsy, Mamadysh, Tukaevsky and Tyulyachy municipal regions of the republic today.

All the pools are built according to a standard design. The facilities include a large pool for adults and a small pool for young and middle-aged children, with the capacity of 396 people per day. The facilities are equipped for low-mobility groups. In particular, a fitted locker room, as well as a special mechanism for getting into the water are provided.

In his welcome speech, Minnikhanov noted that today all the conditions to do sport have been for the residents of the republic. There are 224 swimming pools in the region, 214 are of closed type. "Today we have opened seven new swimming pools. Until the end of this month, one more pool will be opened in Atninsk region. There are all conditions to do sport comfortably. I am sure that these facilities will be in demand among local dwellers,” Tatarstan President added.

During a special video address, President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Julio Maglione stressed that every year Tatarstan not only maintains, but increases traditions of water sports. "We see that huge work has been done in the republic, a serious reserve has been created for future champions. Today, seven new swimming pools have been opened in several regions of Tatarstan. These facilities are just what is needed for people to be healthy,” he said.
