At a government meeting, Vladimir Yakushev reported on the situation in the field of housing construction and measures to support the industry. Today at a meeting of the federal government, the results of the commissioning of housing and the implementation of measures to stimulate housing construction in 2019 were summed up. “In the whole country, 82 million square meters of housing were built. The main input was provided by 15 regions. These are the Moscow Region, Moscow, Krasnodar Region, St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region, the Republic of Tatarstan, Rostov, Sverdlovsk Region, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Voronezh, Samara, Novosibirsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Region, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk Region,” - the Minister emphasized. In 2019, a unified housing information system was also launched. It provides complete information transparency and control over each house being built with the involvement of citizens. As of May 29, 2020, 99.8 million square meters are under construction: according to the old rules, 58.6 million square meters of housing are being completed, using escrow erected 33.1 million square meters. The system also gives a very clear answer, which houses and in which constituent entities of the Russian Federation, in which specific municipality, are problematic.

One of the most important tasks of increasing the volume of housing construction is to provide land for future construction with social, engineering, and transport infrastructure. The Russian Ministry of Construction is implementing the Stimulus program aimed at subsidizing the construction of such infrastructure in the regions.

He added that the consequences of the crisis caused by the spread of a new coronavirus infection, due to the inertness of the construction, will be clear after some time. “To support the industry, it is necessary to stimulate demand, improve the economics of projects, develop infrastructure and reduce administrative barriers at all stages of construction. This is the work that the Russian government is currently engaged in as part of a national action plan to restore the economy,” - the minister concluded.
