In May, Kazan schoolchildren will immerse themselves into adulthood in a playful way. An interactive educational quest "Our work is your comfort" is starting in the capital of Tatarstan, which will involve 1,500 students in grades 3-4.
The project was launched on the initiative of the Ministry of Construction of Tatarstan with the support of the Kazan Department of Education. His main idea is simple and clear: to explain to children using live examples, and not with the help of a boring lecture, where the water comes from in the faucet and why the batteries are warm. The students will learn why it is necessary to protect light and water, understand how the daily work of public utilities is organized, and understand why it is so important to treat housing and communal services employees with sincere respect. After all, it is these people who work hard to make the city bright, clean and safe, and apartments and houses warm and comfortable. Students will be taught how to fill out receipts, understand tariffs, and take meter readings. Children will learn what makes up the amount in the payment and why it is so important to transmit the data on time.
One of the key objectives of the project is to inform every household and every adult about how and why utilities should be paid.
In order for the participants to clearly feel the importance of the work of public utilities, they will be asked to imagine a problematic situation: what if heat, water, and light suddenly disappear from the house, garbage is taken out and a leaky roof is repaired? Without the usual services, the world outside the window will immediately lose its comfort, and everyone will see how important the daily work of housing and communal services workers is for the city.
"We have tried to make the difficult topic of housing and communal services understandable and exciting for children. Through the game, children will not only master household skills, but also understand how important it is to help parents and take care of their own home. These are the values that will stay with them for a long time," said Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Marat Aizatullin.
In the final, each participant will receive a memo with useful information on the topic of housing and communal services – it will be useful to the children themselves and their parents.
