The Russian language has been introduced into the practice of international construction standards

For the first time in history, an international standard for basic construction terms in Russian and English has been published - ISO 6707-1: 2020 “Buildings and structures - Vocabulary - Part 1: Basic terms”. The document introduced the Russian language into the practice of international construction standards and approved a unified terminological base. Dmitry Volkov, Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, noted that the publication of the bilingual standard is a landmark event for the harmonization of the provisions of Russian regulatory documents with international standards. The work was also carried out in close contact with the working group of subcommittee 2 of ISO TK59 “Buildings and structures”, where the possibilities of correcting a number of terms of the standard ISO 6707-1: 2017 “Buildings and structures. Vocabulary. Basic terms". The official ISO working languages ​​in which originals of ISO standards may be published are English, French and Russian.
