Changes have been made to the rules of the All-Russian Competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment. This year, not only small towns and historical settlements can participate, but also villages, urban-type settlements and cities with a population of up to 300 thousand people. A total of 16 applications will be submitted from the republic under the supervision of the Institute of Urban Development of Tatarstan.
The competition, which has been held since 2018, provides regions with the opportunity to receive federal funding for the development of public spaces. Tatarstan has successfully attracted 3.46 billion rubles in grant funds during this time, which has improved 49 public spaces in 23 localities. This year, seven winning projects of the 2023 competition are planned to be implemented in Zelenodolsk, Chistopol, Mendeleevsk, Arsk, Agryz, Innopolis and Sviyazhsk. In 2025, Tatarstan will present comprehensive projects for 12 territories for the first time, including the development of parks, streets and embankments.
Among the abandoned and finalized applications that can be submitted for re-participation after an unenviable result in the past, there are projects such as the beautification of the main historical Lenin Street in Bugulma and the creation of the Central Park of Contact and Discoveries in Aznakaevo. These projects will be presented in different categories, including for settlements of up to 50,000 people, where landscaped squares and parks have been designed.
Ideas for improving the territories were formed on the basis of a vote of residents, which took place from February 28 to March 10, 2025. The application process will end on June 1, and the results of the competition will be announced in August.
Among the articipating cities: Nizhnekamsk, Aksubaevo, Alekseevskoye, Vysokaya Gora, Novosheshminsk, Tyulyachi, Cheremshan, Aznakaevo, Almetyevsk, Bugulma, Yelabuga, Kukmor, Leninogorsk, Menzelinsk, Nurlat, Tetyushi. The link contains photos of the winners of the previous years' contest.
Earlier, the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation announced that changes had been made to the rules of the All-Russian Competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment. These updates are aimed at enabling even more cities and towns to participate in the implementation of the federal project "Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment", which is popular among Russian citizens and is part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". Twice as many localities will be able to get a chance to become more comfortable and convenient for their residents.
