In Chistopol, according to the national project, a comprehensive renovation of Lenin Street with an area of 2.6 hectares has begun

According to the national project "Infrastructure for Life" in Chistopol, the comprehensive development of Lenin Street from Leo Tolstoy Street to Narimanov Street has begun. The total area of the renovated public territory is 2.6 hectares.

The project provides for the reconstruction of a park with a fountain, the creation of a meeting area for teenagers, bicycle parking, an exhibition space with the manufacture and installation of structures for the exhibition, and a mock-up of the city made of bronze.

It is planned to develop a walking network with asphalt driveways and parking pockets, pedestrian paths, landscaping, and video surveillance. 48 lighting fixtures will be installed on metal reconstructions along the sidewalks around the perimeter of the park. Various small architectural forms will appear – benches, single swings, urns. Activities are also planned for the comfortable movement of people with disabilities.

As reported in the GIS of the Republic of Tatarstan, the work is on schedule. At the moment, construction workers are dismantling the fountain and the old sidewalks. The deadline for putting the facility into operation is August 30.

Lenin Street is a popular place among tourists and residents of Chistopol, it is the main axis of the city with two-way traffic and a system of squares in the center. The registry office, library, museums, and historical buildings are located here. According to the designers, the renovation of the central part with the creation of a more accessible and safe environment will restore interest in the center and its history. New functional areas will increase opportunities for communication and self-expression.

The citizens actively voted for the comprehensive development of the Lenin Street section in Chistopol, taking an active part in the All-Russian competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements. As a result, this facility is among the 7 winners included in the program of improvement of public spaces of Tatarstan in 2025 under the national project "Infrastructure for life".

In total, 51 public spaces will be improved in the republic in 2025 according to the national project. More than 1 billion 719 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes, including almost 244 million from the national budget.
