The Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, assessed the progress of the repair and restoration work of the Memorial Temple to Fallen Soldiers, built in 1823. The Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin took part in the detour.
The memorial temple is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. It is located in the water area of the Kazanka River and is connected to the shore by a bridge crossing. It is a 20-meter high rectangular truncated pyramid raised on a high pedestal. Repairs have been carried out here over the years. In 2024, a large-scale restoration of the temple began.
The facility has completed work to strengthen the coastline, install tongue-and-groove fencing, strengthen and install waterproofing in the basement and on the first floor of the temple. The brickwork of the basement walls has been restored, and a crowning cross has been installed.
During the inspection of the memorial temple to Rustam Minnikhanov, it was reported that interior finishing works, the reconstruction of entrance groups, stairs, porticos and stucco decoration are currently being completed. The facade is being lined with natural stone, the construction of a historical (mooring) staircase, the restoration of the roof, and the construction of a stone fence around the perimeter of the monument. Landscaping of the surrounding area is also continuing.
