A methodological document on the establishment of water supply and sanitation networks has been adopted in Tatarstan
By order of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan dated June 8, 2026, the regional methodological document "Establishment of water supply and sanitation networks in the Republic of Tatarstan" (RMD) was approved in Tatarstan. It is aimed at improving approaches to the design, construction and reconstruction of public infrastructure facilities.
According to the republican program and the national project "Infrastructure for Life", the republic continues to actively modernize the municipal infrastructure and build new engineering facilities. This methodological document accumulates the practical experience gained by the specialists of the republic and forms unified methodological approaches to the implementation of projects in the field of water supply and sanitation. The RMD аlso supplements the current federal standards and codes with practical recommendations on the use of modern technical solutions, the choice of materials and construction technologies.
The document has already received a positive assessment from the professional community. Design organizations note the need for unified methodological recommendations for the use of modern technologies. Resource supply companies are interested in improving the reliability and durability of facilities, and management companies expect to reduce costs during further operation and repair of facilities.
According to Alsu Zainullina, Vice-president of the Union of Builders of the Republic of Tatarstan, director of the ArsenalGidro engineering company, who was one of the developers of the RMD, the need for its adoption has been overdue for a long time. "A similar document is in force in many regions of Russia. Now it has appeared in Tatarstan, too," Alsu Zainullina emphasized. - In the practice of the industry, we often encounter situations when the minimum purchase price becomes the determining factor when choosing technical solutions, while the costs of further operation and the entire life cycle of a structure remain without due attention. The RMD pays special attention to modern methods of increasing the durability of water supply and sanitation facilities, which will increase their reliability and reduce maintenance costs in the future."
The introduction of the RMD will be an important step in the development of the republic municipal complex.
