Major renovation of a key water supply facility continues in Menzelinsk
A large-scale major renovation is underway at the primary water intake facility in Menzelinsk. This facility is a crucial component of the water supply system, serving over 16,000 residents of the city and the settlement of Yurtovo. The facility has a design capacity of 8,000 cubic meters of water per day.
Built in 1974, the facility has reached a high level of wear and tear – 86%. The renovation project includes replacing pumping equipment and shut-off valves, as well as upgrading control and automation systems.
Mazit Salikhov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan, inspected the progress of the project. "Construction and installation work is being carried out in stages under the republic's program for the development of social and engineering infrastructure", the deputy minister noted.
Upon completion of the renovation, the reliability of the water supply is expected to increase, the frequency of breakdowns to decrease, and the quality of the water supplied to thousands of residents to improve.
It is worth noting that a republic-wide program for modernizing utility infrastructure has been underway since 2025, initiated by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. This year, 116 projects worth 10 billion rubles are planned under the program; 66 of them have been completed to date.
