Major renovation of wastewater networks continues in the GES district of Naberezhnye Chelny
A major renovation project for the sewage network—spanning the section from Pumping Station 10 to Collector 7 in the GES district of Naberezhnye Chelny—is currently underway, with work extending into 2025. The project is part of the federal "Modernization of Utility Infrastructure" program under the "Infrastructure for Life" national project. Work is scheduled to continue into 2027.
According to the Main Directorate of Engineering Networks of the Republic of Tatarstan, the sewage networks in the GES district were originally built in 1976. Over the years of operation, the pipe waterproofing had deteriorated, and emergency repairs were frequently required.
The modernization of this wastewater network section began in March and is now 85% complete. Specialists have laid 750 meters of the planned 990 meters of polyethylene piping and installed two of the four pumps. A trenchless method—involving the pulling through of a flexible, high-strength polymer liner—is being used for the pipe replacement. The work is scheduled for completion by NovemberThis upgrade will improve service quality for the district's 7,335 residents.
It is worth noting that 15 utility infrastructure projects in Naberezhnye Chelny were included in the "Infrastructure for Life" national project program this year, with total funding exceeding 1.8 billion rubles. To date, 11 of these projects have been completed.
