Construction of “Innopolis” to be started in spring 2012

Construction of “Innopolis” will be started in spring 2012 in Verkhneuslonsky region. Such information was given by the Director-general of Singapore company RSP Architect Mr Liu Thai-Ker upon completion of a meeting with Tatarstan PM Ildar Khalikov.
The meeting took place in RT Government House with participation of Vice-premier – Minister of informatization and communications Nikolay Nikiforov.
RSP Architect is engaged in developing master plans for large-scale urban planning projects all over the world. Currently the company is developing a master plan of IT village “Innopolis” meant to be constructed in Verkhneuslonsky region (the Republic of Tatarstan).
By words of Vice-premier – Minister of informatization and communications Nikolay Nikiforov current state of the project on constructing a residential cluster for IT specialists was discussed at the meeting.
According to the project 50 thousand people including maintenance staff, and families of 20 thousand specialists will be able to live on the territory of 1200 hectares.
Specialists from across the country will be invited to work in “Innopolis”.
According to Head of RSP Architect Mr Liu Thai-Ker total area of the territory considered upon developing master plan is 44 km ². Forests, ravines and other landscape elements meant to be preserved make half of this area.
In order to create a master plan we have to think over a viable conception of a new city, and this process takes much time, Liu Thai-Ker informed.
In accordance with the contract construction of the first stage of Innopolis and planning that is expected to be finished in August 2012, will be implemented simultaneously, Nikolay Nikiforov said.
Realization of the project will be based on private-state partnership. Thus, the state creates basic infrastructure (roads, social infrastructure), construction of commercial objects will be implemented at the expense of investors.
“We are carrying on negotiations on involving serious partners, and a wide range of development institutions are considering cooperation opportunities”, Head of the Ministry of informatization and communications Nikolay Nikiforov stated.
Terms of working in Innopolis will be announced for companies when the master plan is ready.
The All-Russian voting for selecting priority improvement projects for 2027 is ongoing. As of May 4, 203,000 people in Tatarstan have made their choice.
Major repairs of utility networks in the 31st microdistrict of Naberezhnye Chelny are ongoing. The work began in 2025 within the framework of the national project “Infrastructure for Life.” At that time, 1.2 km of sewer networks were replaced and 30 reinforced concrete wells were installed.
The progress of housing construction was reported by the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan, Marat Aizatullin, at a traditional meeting held at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In the current year, 14 new sports facilities are planned to be built in Tatarstan.
