The implementation of the Law on “garage amnesty” continues in the republic

11 November 2022, Friday

From September 1, 2021 to October 30, 2022, as part of the implementation of the Law on “garage Amnesty”, the Rosreestr of Tatarstan registered 2,500 garages and 2,259 land plots.

The most popular “garage amnesty" turned out to be in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny, where 1090 and 1038 objects were registered during the 14 months of the law, respectively. Residents of the Almetyevsk district (957 objects) and Chistopolsky (496 objects) also actively used the possibilities of the "garage amnesty”.

For free registration of a land plot or garage in the property, citizens must apply to the local government with an application for the provision of a plot under an existing garage with the attachment of any document that confirms the fact of ownership of the garage. These may include: a document on the payment of a share in a garage cooperative, a decision on the distribution of a garage, technical inventory documents and others, as well as a land plot boundary plan and a garage technical plan, which are prepared by a cadastral engineer.

The law on “garage amnest” came into force on September 1, 2021, and will last until September 1, 2026.

The “amnesty” applies to garage facilities built before the entry into force of the Urban Planning Code of the Russian Federation (December 30, 2004). We are talking only about capital structures that have foundations and walls. Structures should be one-story, without residential premises. Such objects can be part of garage-building cooperatives or be free-standing capital buildings. The land on which the garage is located should be under the jurisdiction of the state. Do not fall under the “garage amnesty” of self-construction and underground garages at multi-storey buildings and office complexes.
