Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, as part of a working trip to the Nurlat district, got acquainted with the operation of a new water supply system with a water intake node in the city of Nurlat. He was accompanied by the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Frolov.

The former city water intake was built back in the 70s of the last century. The facility was in disrepair and did not provide reliable and high-quality water supply. Drastic solutions to the problem of water supply were required.

The construction of a new water treatment plant started in the spring of 2022. During the implementation of the program, 27 kilometers of water supply networks were built, 2 water intakes consisting of 6 wells were built. The capacity of the new station is 10 thousand cubic meters per day. This will provide high-quality drinking water to 32 thousand residents of the city of Nurlat.

The new facility was built within the framework of the federal Clean Water program of the national Housing and Urban Environment project.

"The quality of drinking water has remained one of the pressing problems of Nurlat for many years. The implementation of a large-scale water supply project for the city has been completed. It is important for the district administration, together with the operating organization, to ensure the smooth operation of the water intake and the station," Alexey Pesoshin stressed.

In the future, the settlements nearby to Nurlat will also be connected to the new water supply system.

For reference:

During the implementation of the national project, 6 drinking water supply facilities were built in the republic, 4 of them last year. In addition to the city of Nurlat, a new water treatment plant has appeared in the Alekseevsky district, water supply networks have been built in the villages of Surovka and Belous of the Tukayevsky district.
