A new perinatal center has been opened in Kazan

The grand opening of a new Perinatal center on the basis of the seventh city hospital took place in Kazan. It was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov via video link.

The 8-storey center, with an area of more than 21 thousand square meters, will merge with the already operating maternity hospital of the seventh city hospital. The plans are to take eight thousand births a year.

The facility has a capacity of 100 beds, and deliveries will take place in seven individual delivery rooms. Four operating rooms will work for women who are shown emergency delivery, as well as for newborns.

The perinatal center also has a neonatal intensive care unit with incubator cuvettes for nursing newborns. A medical rehabilitation department has been opened for children with diseases of the nervous system. There are rooms for psychoemotional diagnostics and correction of the condition of mothers in the postpartum period.

Recall that in March 2022, Rustam Minnikhanov laid the first stone in the foundation of a new perinatal center in Kazan.
