6 November 2024, Wednesday

The Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the construction of the new building of the Tatar State Academic Theater named after G.Kamal. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Gafarov, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova and others.

First, Rustam Minnikhanov was told about the landscaping of the territory adjacent to the theater building. Explanations during the inspection were given by the director of the Foundation "Institute of Urban Development of the Republic of Tatarstan" Naila Zinnatullina. A park environment with an embankment will appear near the theater. This will set new scenarios and formats for the theater's interaction with the surrounding space. The area around is divided into different functional zones. There is a small theater square directly in front of the building. The open space will lead from the intersection of Hadi Taktash and Nazarbayev streets directly to the doors of the theater.

Closer to the embankment there will be a theater garden, through which you can go directly to the water. There is a special 170-meter-long path in the garden with various playgrounds. On the water side, "visual" zones will be located along the theater. There is also an open theater stage designed for street performances by theater troupes and events of a different format. There will also be a playground for children on the territory adjacent to the theater.

Then the Rais of Tatarstan assessed the readiness of the theater complex itself. The building has several halls, creative and educational laboratories, a public area, as well as rehearsal and administrative rooms. Today, finishing works are continuing here, equipment and furniture are being installed in the halls. Traditional images of Tatar culture are used in the design of the theater's premises. During his communication with the builders, Rustam Minnikhanov urged not to chase deadlines, but to pay special attention to the quality of the work performed. "This is an iconic object for our city. Therefore, quality should be above all else!" - said the Rais of the Republic.

The construction of the new Kamala Theater building has become an incentive for the comprehensive improvement of the adjacent quarter between Hadi Taktash and Nursultan Nazarbayev streets. In 2024, according to the "Our Yard" program, 20 yards were landscaped here. During the construction work, pedestrian zones were increased, lighting was improved, new playgrounds and sports grounds were installed, and convenient routes to key facilities were created: kindergartens, schools and public transport stops.
