The solemn opening of the Umka kindergarten for 220 children took place in the village of Peschanye Kovali, Laishevsky district. The event was attended by the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and the head of the Laishevsky district, Ildus Zaripov.

"The implementation of such a large-scale project became possible thanks to the well-coordinated work of the team. I am sure that Umka will become a second home for our kids," emphasized Ildus Zaripov.

"It's a symbolic name, because preschool education is the first and very important step in the upbringing of our children. All conditions have been created here for their development and upbringing, and together with the nearby lyceum, the Umka kindergarten has become part of an educational cluster for local residents. We will continue to work in this direction throughout the republic," said Rustam Minnikhanov.

The new three-storey garden with an area of more than 4.5 thousand square meters includes 12 groups for children from 1.5 years old. The special feature of Umki is its combined format: two specialized groups for children with severe speech disorders will work here.

On the ground floor there are 5 groups for toddlers (1.5–3 years old), a medical office and a food hall. The second floor is reserved for children over three years old: there are 6 groups, halls for music and physical education, as well as a sensory room for educational activities. The opening of the new kindergarten supports the goals and objectives of the national Family project.
