Repair and restoration work began in the building of the Kazan State Theater of the Young Spectator.
The theater building is located at 10 Ostrovsky Street. It was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, where a merchant's club was opened. After the October Revolution of 1917, it was given to the House of Tatar Culture, and Maxim Gorky performed here in 1923. Since the 1940s, the Oriental Club building has housed the Theater of the Young Spectator.
The Oriental Club houses Oak, Moorish and Auditorium halls. The restoration program includes roofing and facade work, repair of windows, doors, exterior and interior engineering networks. It is also planned to install an electric lighting system, stage equipment, etc.
Today, construction workers at the facility are dismantling floors, plaster, stucco, and starting to repair the roof.
During the dismantling work, a fireplace was discovered in the Oak Hall, which had been covered with drywall for many years. The fireplace will also be renovated.
