During his working trip to Kazan, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Vitaly Saveliev got acquainted with the project of the new passenger terminal of Kazan International Airport named after Gabdulla Tukai. He was accompanied by the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
The project was presented by the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin. During the presentation, he said that the expected capacity of the new terminal is over 5 million passengers per year. It will increase the capacity of the Kazan air gates, as well as give an additional impetus to the development of the economy and tourism potential of the republic.
The airport is designed to receive 2.5 million passengers per year. However, in 2024, Kazan airport served 5 million 369 thousand passengers.
It should be recalled that last year, before the BRICS summit, the passenger apron at Kazan airport was doubled.
