Tatarstan has fulfilled and exceeded the housing commissioning plan set for 2025. In the coming days, the republic expects to step over the bar set last year.
By the end of 2025, Tatarstan may introduce housing with some excess of the volume of 2024, which was a record for the republic. This was announced to RBC Tatarstan by Ilshat Gimaev, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan.
"Work is underway to reach the level of last year. We commissioned 3,452 square meters in 2024. They say we are going to "close" this figure this week. There are volumes of housing that are currently at the stage of registration, mainly in Kazan through the multi—apartment housing construction (MCD)," he said.
Gimaev noted that the plan for the commissioning of housing under the national project "Infrastructure for Life" – 3.26 million square meters. – for 2025 in Tatarstan has already been completed. 3.33 million square meters were commissioned, which is 102% of the planned volume and 101.4% compared to last year.
Of the housing built in Tatarstan since the beginning of 2025, the majority are individual houses – more than 2.4 million square meters. According to Gimaev, the trend towards a dominant share of residential housing is observed throughout Russia.
"Residents of Tatarstan are oriented either to live outside the city, or, having an apartment, to have a house outside the city, just in case, so that they can go there," said the deputy head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan, adding that the MCD "needs to be tightened up."
Gimaev recalled that Tatarstan ranks 1st in the Volga Federal District and 5th in Russia in terms of housing construction, behind the Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory, Moscow and Leningrad Region. According to his forecast, the republic will maintain these positions throughout 2025.
"We have firm confidence that we will maintain our leadership positions," Gimaev said.
