Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan held a briefing "On the readiness for the passage of the spring flood in the Republic of Tatarstan." Damir Shaidullin, First Deputy of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in it.
In his speech, Damir Shaidullin noted that an abnormally high amount of precipitation fell in Tatarstan this winter. And with the onset of spring and rising air temperatures, most municipal territories, especially coastal areas, are susceptible to flooding due to snowmelt.
"To eliminate emergency situations, an action plan has been approved to protect the population and territory of the Republic during the spring flood," said the first deputy head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan. - Replenishment of the emergency technical reserve occurs annually. This year, Tatleasing, a company subordinate to the Ministry, purchased materials and equipment for 160 million rubles, which, if necessary, will be sent to municipalities. There are 7 mobile motor pumps, and 11 more are being purchased."
Emergency teams have been set up to ensure the smooth operation of life support facilities. During flood control measures, public utilities clean snow and ice from storm water receivers, sewer wells, culvert heads, and drainage ditches. Meltwater drainage from boiler houses, transformer substations, water intakes and sewage treatment plants has also been organized. On-duty crews have been formed to repair and restore damaged facilities, and a reserve of soil and materials has been created, as well as equipment to eliminate emergencies during the flood.
Measures have been taken to strengthen control over the quality of drinking water, wastewater and surface water.
"The capacity of storm sewer networks is important to prevent flooding of territories and the passage of meltwater," D.Shaidullin emphasized. - Annually, funds from the republican budget are allocated to ensure the regulatory maintenance of the stormwater and household sewerage systems. In 2025, 400 million rubles were allocated for these purposes, 111.4 km of networks were cleaned."
In conclusion, the First Deputy Minister recalled that the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan interacts around the clock with the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan, municipalities and resource supply organizations.
