The main task is to create safe working conditions in the construction industry

Ilshat Gimaev, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan, held a seminar on "Current issues of labor protection in construction" in Nizhnekamsk today. It was attended by members of the labor protection working group and representatives of construction organizations in Nizhnekamsk.

According to I.Gimaev, Tatarstan's construction sector continues to develop systematically and dynamically: more than 3 million square meters are commissioned annually. housing, schools, kindergartens, unique buildings and structures, and industrial enterprises are being built. But at the same time it is one of the injury-prone branches of economic activity.

"According to the State Labor Inspectorate, 19 accidents were recorded in the Republic in 2025, 11 of them fatal and 8 serious. In just 3 months of this year, 3 accidents have already occurred," said the Deputy head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Ilshat Gimaev noted that falling from a height has been ranked first for many years (63 percent) and is the result of a complex of reasons: lack of fences, non-use of safety belts, negligence of management and violation of labor discipline. Therefore, the main task for today is to strengthen the creation of safe working conditions that exclude injuries.

Within the framework of the assigned powers, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan coordinates work in two directions: prevention and control.

The Main Investment and Construction Department of the Republic of Tatarstan is the state customer for the construction of facilities with the involvement of budgetary funds. Each facility is under the supervision of a curator, and special attention is paid to labor protection issues. So, in 2025, more than 2,500 inspections were carried out, some were eliminated immediately, some as soon as possible.

Control and supervisory functions are performed by the State Construction Supervision Inspectorate of the Republic of Tatarstan and self-regulatory organizations. The Inspection staff conducted 1,791 inspections. 612 administrative liability orders totaling 46.9 million rubles were issued for violations of labor protection rules and regulations.

Self-regulatory organizations visited construction sites 1,587 times. The heads of 1,476 organizations were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
