Tatarstan ranks 3rd in Russia and 1st in the Volga Federal District in housing commissioning
The balance of apartment and private house rentals has changed in Tatarstan this year. The republic came in third place in terms of the number of square meters being commissioned
The further development of the housing market was discussed at a round table of RBC Tatarstan with the participation of developers and Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Ilshat Gimaev.
The approved plan is 3.175 million square meters. In comparison with 2025, it has been reduced as part of the passport of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". This year, the republic has passed the milestone of 2 million square meters – 63% of the plan for the year. By last year, this value is 97%.
"This year, a paradoxical situation has developed – we are exceeding 168% for apartment buildings compared to last year, and we are lagging 74% for individual housing construction. But we are proceeding systematically and we are working with municipalities on facilities," Gimaev said.
Tatarstan currently ranks third in Russia in housing construction, second only to the Moscow region (3.5 million square meters) and Moscow (2.2 million square meters). The republic traditionally occupies the first position in the Volga Federal District. The Samara region is located on the second floor (700 thousand square meters).
In October 2025, Tatarstan ranked fifth in the country and first in the Volga Federal District in housing construction, according to the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic Marat Aizatullin.
On June 27, the first deputy head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan, Damir Shaidullin, announced that since the beginning of the year, 84 apartment buildings have been commissioned in the republic, with a total area of about 777 thousand square meters. m. More than 1.1 million "squares" have been commissioned for residential housing.
