Modernization of water supply networks in 42 and 43 residential districts of Naberezhnye Chelny is nearing completion
Major repairs of water supply networks in 42 and 43 residential districts are being completed in Naberezhnye Chelny. The facility was included in the federal program "Modernization of municipal infrastructure" of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" with financing of 74.8 million rubles.
According to the State Institution "Main Directorate of Engineering Networks of the Republic of Tatarstan", by now polyethylene pipes of various diameters have been laid on the 2150 m-long section under repair. An innovative method of horizontal directional drilling was used in the work. 26 wells out of 29 have also been installed. Currently, the facility's readiness is estimated at 90%.
The steel pipeline was commissioned in 1976 and has a wear rate of more than 80%. Waterproofing violations and numerous ulcerative corrosion on pipe surfaces were recorded here. Emergency situations were repeatedly eliminated at the site.
As a result of the modernization of water supply networks, the quality of service for more than 20,000 residents of 42 and 43 microdistricts will improve.
This year, 15 municipal facilities will be renovated in Naberezhnye Chelny under the national project "Infrastructure for Life".
