Irek Faizullin took part in the meeting in the Government of the Russian Federation

Today the Minister of construction, architecture and housing of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin took part in the meeting on the issue "Improvement of mechanisms of providing accommodation to people with disabilities", which was held in the government of the Russian Federation.

At the meeting Irek Anvarovich made a report, on the measures on adaptation of premises to the needs of people with disabilities.

The program covered all the priority spheres of life of disabled people, it is 68 health care facilities, 65 objects of social protection and employment, 14 institutions of professional education, 16 objects of culture, 14 objects of physical culture and sports, and 1 object of the transport system - 7 stations of Kazan underground.

The Minister noted that the most difficult problem is the adaptation of housing, where persons with disabilities live.

"Citizen with disabilities  first of all needs barrier-free environment in the street and easy movement in the apartment." One of the solutions to the problems of adaptation for people with disabilities could also be  designing the apartments on the first floor of residential buildings, houses on social mortgage program, houses economy class or in special housing which will be fully match the living activity of the disabled population.

"Accomadation should be equipped with special means and facilities in accordance with the individual program of rehabilitation of a disabled person" said Irek Faizullin.
