The largest wood based plant will open in the SEZ "Alabuga".

On 24 September 2014 Turkish company KASTAMONU plans to open on the territory of SEZ "Alabuga" the largest in Europe plant od  wood based products. The total investments in the project amount to $600 million.  Total production capacity of enterprises in the SEZ "Alabuga" will amount to 1.8 million cubic meters per year. On the same site in 2016 it is planned to launch production of particleboard with a capacity of 725 thousand cubic meters per year.  The decision to invest in Tatarstan was taken accroding to cultural and historical ties of the Republic of Turkey, as well as logistical advantages due to the geographical position of the region.
