53 kindergartens to be overhauled in 2016

A total of 147 educational institutions is to be repaired this year in Tatarstan under the overhaul programme, 53 of them are kindergartens. It was announced by Chief Operating Office for implementing housing programmes under Tatarstan Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services Ildus Nasyrov today at a press conference at Tatar-Inform news agency.

The speaker recalled that the decision to launch the program on schools repairs had been made in 2012 by Tatarstan President Rustam Minihanov. It includes educational institutions older than 30 years. Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science formed a list of 839 appropriate educational objects. "Much of work has already been done. Over the years, 622 facilities have been overhauled, with expenses totaling 9,747 million rubles. Now, 217 objects from that list has stayed unrepaired," the official reported.

Nasyrov said that the overhaul programme for 2016 includes 147 educational institutions, including 15 correctional schools and 53 kindergartens, with funding of 2,614 million rubles.
"We are actually completing the repair of schools this year. Therefore, most of the funds will be directed to kindergartens repair. Works are expected to complete by 15 August," he said.
Under the results of the previous years, a public list of unscrupulous contractors has been made up in order to avoid unreliable contractors.
