Regional championship “Young professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) was opened at the site of the exhibition center "Kazan Fair" in Kazan. Competition participants were welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan - Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov and deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Ivan Kuznetsov.
The three-day championship involves 454 contestants, including 100 representatives from 17 Russian regions. During the event, «JuniorSkills» competition of 15 competencies with school children aged 10 to 17 years is held. Competitions will be held on the 56 competencies. All professions are divided into 6 major sections: construction, industry, IT, services, maintenance of civil transport, creativity and design.
At the end of the championship team of Tatarstan will be formed to participate in the semi-finals and final of the National Championship "Young Professionals". The semi-final of the championship of the Volga Federal District will take place from 13 to 16 April in Saransk (Mordovia) on 26 competencies. Tatarstan will be represented in all 26 competencies. Finals will be held in the Moscow region from 23 to 27 May.
Recall, the world championship «WorldSkills Competition» is held every two years. Nearest Championship 2017 will be held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi. In 2019 Russia will take the world competition. Especially for the event exhibition complex "Kazan WorldSkills Arena" with total area of 269 square meters and a capacity of more than 45 thousand people will be built.
