Today, the first plant of the Haier in Russia has been opened in Naberezhnye Chelny at the Master Kama industrial park. The opening ceremony was attended by Russian Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Haier Corporation Liang Hayshan.
"Today's event is important not only for Tatarstan, but for the whole Russia. Such a large company with great potential has entered Russian market! Great job has been done, including by the team of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. Haier has a strategy, which provides localization at the Russian industrial productions as fast as possible. Over three years, up to 70 percent of production is planned to be localized," Mikhail Babich said.
"Tatarstan has the best investment environment and a high qualified team. We have been actively supported. You have developed industrial cluster, good prospects for logistics development, so we are confident in the further development of our company," Haier Corporation President Liang Hayshan shared his opinion.
The new plant in Naberezhnye Chelny has become the first joint Russian-Chinese project, not related to the raw materials industry. The total investment in production amounts to $55 million, $39 million have already been invested in the establishment of the plant. The remaining part will be invested by June 2016 in purchasing of components and production development.
In addition to financial investment, Haier Group is introducing a unique production model and innovative technology to Tatarstan, which is unique for Russia.
By 2017, Haier intends to employ 500 professionals. Another 1,200 jobs will be created at the expense of outsourcing. Today, the plant employs 120 people.
In addition to a refrigerator factory, Haier has already started developing R&D center in Naberezhnye Chelny, as well as a project on assembling Haier TVs.
