From 24 to 28 April 2017 in Vancouver (Canada) will host the legendary international TED conference. And the opening of the conference will be built wooden pavilion. To search for the best ideas, the organizers held an international architectural COMPETITION Pause (Pause), where the main prize is the realization of the object.
Participants of the contest on Pause (Pause) could become students of the architectural profession and young architects under the age of 30 years. The main material of which it is expected the construction of the pavilion is wood. The theme of the contest was labeled as "Pause", the contestants were asked to create a pavilion where people could relax from the urban bustle, to create a place for reflection.
In late January, the jury has selected 5 works – finalists of the contest, the works were sent from 21 countries. In the list of finalists included: Russia (Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering), Canada (Dalhousie University), Sweden (Chalmers University of Technology), Brazil (Universidade Sao Judas Tadeu) and South Africa (Cape Peninsula University of Technology). And in early February, was declared the WINNER of the competition is architect student ksuae Alsu Sadrieva . In her project, in collaboration with the canadian Design Build firm Research (DBR) is the construction of the pavilion of the International TED conference in Vancouver (Canada).
Alsu proposed pavilion under the intriguing title "the Leviathan", which has a distinctive image and includes game time, providing everyone who wants to become a direct participant in the action, both in the pavilion and outside it.
