“Clean Water. Kazan” specialized exhibition opens in Kazan

The third specialized exhibition “Clean Water. Kazan” has opened in Kazan today. The event is part of a federal target program “Clean Water” for 2011-2017 approved by the Government of Russia resolution.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, Director of UNIDO centre for international industrial development in Russia Sergei Korotkov, Lower Volga basin water department head Anatoly Bykov, chairman of the board of “The Russian Water Association” Alexander Katkov, acting minister of construction, architecture and housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Frolov and others.

The Prime Minister I. Khalikov welcomed the participants and said that the exhibition and congress devoted to clean water aroused increasingly greater interest of Tatarstan visitors. According to his opinion it is important not only  to consider the quality of clean water but also pay attention to scientific research results in this sphere, as well as there should be discussed the issues of water supply.

 

 “When there was a serious drought in the country, many settlements were left not only without quality water but without any water at all. Emergency measures were then taken, to resolve the problem,” I. Khalikov reminded and added that Tatarstan program was being implemented to improve water supply and discharge in the long term.

The head of the Government informed that there were allocated funds for the republican program of settlements quality water supply. “We are going to use the experience that is available in Russia and the world, and we would like to offer our projects that could be applied in other Russian regions,” I. Khalikov told the meeting and wished everybody to have efficient work.

Among other officials welcoming the exhibition and congress participants were Director of UNIDO centre for industrial cooperation in Russia Sergei Korotkov and Lower Volga basin water department head Anatoly Bykov. A ceremonial opening of the exhibition, whose participants are 67 manufacturers from 15 Russian cities and countries, then took place.

Honorary guests headed by the Prime Minister of RT Ildar Khalikov visited the exhibition exposition where all range of equipment and services for water resources restoration and protection, communal and industrial water supply, repair of pipeline networks, heating and hot water supply, sewage treatment, water butylation and the last development in this area are presented.

The event was proceeded with a plenary session «Development of water branch of Russia», then panel sessions devoted to the designated subject will take place. Exhibition and congress «Clear water. Kazan» will finish its work on April 5.
