Rockwool opens a factory in SEZ “Alabuga” today

In SEZ "Alabuga" there was held a solemn opening ceremony of one of the biggest stone wool factories in Europe for mineral wool heat-insulating production of the “Rockwool-Volga” LLC with the capacity of 110 thousand tons per year.

The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation E. Nabiullina, Minister of trade and investments of the Kingdom of Denmark Pia Olsen Duhr, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan  R.  Minnikhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark in the Russian Federation Tom Risdahl Jensen, Head of Department for Special Economic Zones and Project Financing of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation D. Levchenkov, General Director of OJSC “Special Economic Zones” O. Kostin, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Y. Alyashev and other officials from the republican ministries and departments attended the solemn opening ceremony.

The launching of “Rockwool-Volga” LLC factory on the territory of SEZ "Alabuga" will allow to manufacture 11 % of total volume of mineral wool production in Russia. The project provides the possibility to mount the second production line that will increase the enterprise capacity  twice as much.

As of 01.01.2012 the volume of investments in the establishment of the enterprise for the entire period of activity has made 3,99 billion roubles, 154 workplaces have been created. The sum of tax deductions to budgets of different levels during 10 years of activity of the enterprise will make more than 100 million USA dollars.

At present “Rockwool" production is used at the construction of sports objects of Universiade, OJSC “TANEKO”, NO «The state Housing Fund at the President of RT», OJSC “KAMAZ”, OJSC “Himgrad” and other industrial and socially significant facilities.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan R. Minnikhanov, the Head of the Department for Special Economic Zones and Project Financing of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation D. Levchenkov, the General Director of OJSC “Special Economic Zones” O. Kostin  considered issues of SEZ "Alabuga" further development.
