Three new underground railway trains of “Rusich” type manufactured by CJSC “MetrovagonMash” for Kazan “underground” were presented to journalists today. On November 28, 2011 due to the results of the competition there was signed a delivery contract the cost of which makes almost 700 million roubles.
Possible speed is up to 90 km/h, each train set of "Rusich" consists of three jointed two-sectioned rail motor carriages: two head and one intermediate, each of them can carry up to 380 people. Developers paid special attention to the design of a train. The reduced noise level and system of ventilation will make trips of Kazan passengers more comfortable.
The interior is decorated with metal and flame-proof glass-fibre plastic to increase train safety.
Video cameras and air-conditioners are installed in a motorman’s cabin of a new train, in a carriage itself there is a speaker phone and an intercommunication system which can be used by a motorman to communicate with passengers. The system of automatic train operation has been introduced. Train running operation can be performed without a motorman’s participation. He is responsible for automatic equipment operation control.
The working life of new trains is 30 years. Besides Moscow and Kazan, "Rusichi" also run in the subway of Sofia – the capital of Bulgaria. For the first time this type of trains was purchased in Kazan on February in 2011 and for the period of more than a year it proved to be good for use.
