Today the President of the Republic of Tatartsan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the streets included in the traffic routes of the World Summer Universiade 2013. The Mayor of Kazan city Ilsur Metshin, the Minister of construction, architecture and housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin, the Minister of transport and road facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Safin and the Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Aleksei Pesoshin took part in the visit together with the President.
During the visit the projects of the Universiade traffic routes improvement were presented to the President. In particular, it is supposed to renovate house fronts and improve pedestrian areas. As explained by Rustam Minnikhanov it is necessary to completely renew asphalt covering in the central streets.
On visiting the Sports Complex of Children and Youth Fencing Sports School of Olympic Reserve the President stressed the necessity to repair the access roads to the Sports Venues of the University Games.
Rustam Minnikhanov made a visit to the railway station being constructed in Vorovskovo street. The President took a look at the construction of the building, the underground passage and railway platforms. The President ordered to improve the territory adjacent to the railway station. “A passenger should be able to freely exit from the station to a public transport stop, - says R.Minnikhanov. – If we open traffic here it is essential to create good conditions for passengers”.
As said by the President the fronts of the residential houses near the station should be also renewed.
At Tasma stadium the President promised to devote funds to repair the heating system and the roof of the field-and-track manege because at the present time it is impossible to use the manege. At the same time Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that the administration of the city and the district should be more active in attracting of sponsors to take part in the reconstruction of one of the key facilities of popular sport in Moskovsky district in Kazan.
When the President stopped in the crossroads of Pavlyukhina and Esperanto streets the residents of six failing houses in Esperanto street addressed to him. The people asked when they will move to new houses. The President answered that at the present time the administration of the city and the republic are considering different variants of resettlement because the houses are situated in the traffic routes of the Universiade.
Finally Rustam Minnikhanov visited the construction site of the sport manege in International Equestrian Centre.
