The corner stone was laid into the foundation of the biggest carbon fiber production factory

A great ceremony of laying “the corner stone” into the foundation of the carbon fiber production factory “Alabuga volokno” LLC, that is the biggest one in the Russian Federation, was held today in special economic zone “Alabuga”. The capacity of the factory will be equal to 1500 tons per year. It is supposed to create 250 work positions for highly qualified staff. The factory will be equipped up to the state of the art, and produced composite materials will be competitive on the world market.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N.Minnikhanov, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan I.E.Faizullin, Director General of the State Corporation “Rosatom” S.V.Kiriyenko, Deputy Minister of Economic development of the Russian Federation O.G.Savelyev, Director General of “Holding company “Kompozit” CJSC L.B.Melamed as well as heads of republican ministries and departments took part in the ceremony.

A worldwide tendency to substitute traditional constructional materials with carbonic composite materials in space, aircraft and nuclear industries, construction, transport, power and other sectors, is supported by a wide presentation of carbonic composite materials in the developing world market. However, there are few carbonic composite materials produced in the Russian Federation presented in the world market to be used in civil sectors of economy. This is precisely why this event is very important for space, aircraft and nuclear industries. The head of the State Corporation “Rosatom” S.V.Kiriyenko thanked the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N.Minnikhanov for the support given to implement the project.
