Tomorrow, Director General of the Fund for Housing Development A.A.Braverman will be on his working trip to the Republic of Tatarstan. He is going to inspect federally owned land plots in Kazan which can be used for housing construction in the future. After that, he will meet the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov, and discuss the implementation of the Agreement on cooperation between the Fund and the Republic of Tatarstan of 2009.
In order to carry out housing development the Fund is already using more than 18.400 hectares; more than 11 million square meters of housing are being designed and constructed. The prices of the housing constructed within the Fund’s areas are 7-15% less than average market prices set by Rosstat, and in some cases they are lower than the prices defined by the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia. The Fund for Housing Development provides a range of support measures for developers implementing projects of integrated development of territories for housing construction.
A key priority of the Fund is to create conditions for the construction of affordable housing in Russia. The Fund has its main task – to use federal land plots which are not used or used for other purposes with a view to construct low-income housing, especially low-rise housing. The Fund's strategy foresees that by 2015 at least 30 percent of housing in the Russian Federation, which is about 40 million square meters, will be built on land plots of the Fund.
To achieve this objective the Fund solves two main tasks. Firstly, it provides targeted search and involvement of a required number of land plots. Secondly, it promotes building materials industry, based on the priorities of energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
