On September 1st , 2012 teaching activities start in all repaired schools of Tatarstan
On September 1st, 2012 teaching activities will start in all schools included in the program on major repairs. This was announced today by Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin at the meeting held in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The republican videoconference meeting with all municipal districts of Tatarstan was devoted to construction and repair issues, and was chaired by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
As Head of Construction, Transport, Housing and Road Facilities Administration of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Sibgatullin reported, of the 165 schools included in the program on major repairs for this year, 145 schools had already been commissioned. According to him, it is essential to complete the commissioning of educational facilities. “Teaching will start in all schools. But some comments still need to be closed”, he stressed.
According to the head of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan this year task on capital repairs of schools has been almost solved. Irek Faizullin reported that repairs are being continued only in two schools: Kildeyevskaya secondary school in Verkhneuslonsky area, where the gym roof replacement is to be carried out (deadline – September 20th, 2012) and secondary school No. 134 in Kazan, where the gym is to be repaired (deadline - September 30th, 2012 ). “This work does not interfere with the start of teaching activities. But it is necessary to quickly execute the assigned tasks”, said the minister.
In addition, the speaker noted that major repairs are being completed in special schools which were also included in the program. According to GISU, repairs will be completed by September 1st, 2012 in Kazan special secondary boarding school No. 11 (Khalezova street, 24). As far as the remaining four schools are concerned there is a delay in the schedule. Repairs will be carried out together with the teaching activities. The most serious situation is in Kazan special boarding school named after E.G.Lastochkina where the delay is almost 20 percent.
Irek Faizullin explained the problems related to repairs in special schools by a late start. “There are some areas where the work is still being done. But we always accept the kids. There are facades to be repaired and issues that do not interfere with the educational process”, he said. “This year we can say that a poor work related to repairs has been done in special school”, said the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that the next year the program on major repairs in schools must not have any delays. According to him, before the end of this academic year it is essential to approve the list of schools to be repaired in 2013 agreed upon with the districts to identify contractors, purchase materials, train people and execute contracts. Then the builders can start work as soon as pupils leave for summer vacations. Irek Faizullin promised that a draft resolution on major repairs in schools in 2013 would be prepared in September, 2012.
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that, based on weather conditions, it will be possible to start heating in pre-school educational institutions in the near future. “The population should also be provided with heating. We need to watch weather conditions”, he said.
