Rustam Minnikhanov participates in the meeting on housing construction held by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev

Dmitry Medvedev noted that housing is the most pressing topic for the absolute majority of the people in the Russian Federation. According to the government’s data a lot of money is required to solve this problem. More than 50% of the population are not satisfied with their housing conditions. At the same time only 25-27% of the people can now afford to buy housing including by means of mortgage loans.

The Prime Minister mentioned the federal target program “Housing” being implemented until 2015. He said that according to this program the government rendered its support to young families, state employees, scientists, teachers, doctors, uniformed personnel and officers of internal affairs subject to dismissal.  He noted that the next year about 53 billion rubles are to be allocated from the federal budget for the relevant purposes.

Dmitry Medvedev also announced the realization of the Decree “On the provision of housing for the veterans of the Second World War”.

 “As of August 1st, 2012 more than 280 thousand of the veterans have already been registered. About 80% of them have improved their housing conditions. And this is a good result. According to the data submitted by the regions more than 30 thousand people will be registered this year. It is essential to control that only those people who have a true right to register will increase this queue. I know that there always exist ethics moments. Anyway, these questions should be considered”.

“The task of providing housing for veterans is a priority of the government. We will continue this work. I remind you that this year 38 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for this purpose and directed to the regions”, said Dmitry Medvedev. Also the Prime Minister said that he had taken the implementation of the program on the land allocation to large families under his personal control.

“From the beginning of 2011 to the beginning of September 2012 families with three or more children were given more than 31 thousands of free land for housing construction, and according to the data submitted by the regions 220,000 large families applied for the land plots”, said Dmitry Medvedev.
