Rustam Minnikhanov visits facilities under construction in Kazan

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov inspected the construction of the quay of Kazanka River and football stadium “Kazan-Arena”. He was accompanied by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin.

The inspection started with Kazanka River quay near the Kremlin. Landscaping and construction are currently being carried out here. According to Head of Production and Construction Association “Kazan” Ravil Ziganshin, the quay will be greatly expanded, there will appear cafes, restaurants and shops, trees will be planted.  The underground walkway will be constructed for easy access from the quay to the Kremlin under Bauman Street, and an underground parking is to be built at the junction of the pedestrian zone and Buchanan Street. Rustam Minnikhanov also visited the construction site of the intersection near the Lenin dam.

Near the Aquatics Palace Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov presented to the President of Tatarstan the options of the improvement of the adjacent territory. After that Rustam Minnikhanov and the other participants went to football stadium “Kazan-Arena” under construction.

At the construction site of the major facility of the forthcoming Universiade Rustam Minnikhanov and Ildar Khalikov met with the heads of the municipal districts of the Republic, whose labor groups are engaged in the construction. The President inspected the work on landscaping of “Kazan-Arena”, and examined the interior of the stadium. Rustam Minnikhanov noted the contribution made by commercial enterprises of Tatarstan to the construction. For example, company “Fereks” from Laishevsky area supplies LED lamps at a reduced price and in the right amount.

In the conference hall of the stadium Rustam Minnikhanov held a brief meeting with the heads of the municipalities. The President of Tatarstan thanked the heads of the areas and their teams for their active participation in the construction. “It was the right decision to involve our areas in the construction. We will arrange a memorial area in honor of the construction of the huge facility where we will indicate all those who participated in it”, said the President.

The President of Tatarstan recalled that the areas most actively involved in the construction would be presented with 100 sports fields to be constructed this year in Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov asked the builders to speed up the work. “We have to already prepare the Opening Ceremony, and it is impossible for the builders and the people who prepare the Ceremony to be at the site at the same time”, said the President of Tatarstan.

“In general, we have a lot of work to be done in transport infrastructure, land improvement for the Universiade, and then we will also seek the support of our areas”, said Minnikhanov. “We have 83 days left before the Games, and each day has to be used effectively”, added the President.
