Alexey Frolov took part in a press conference on the safe use of gas equipment
Today, a press conference dedicated to the safe use of gas equipment was held at the Tatar-inform press center. First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Frolov, Deputy General Director for Production of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan LLC Mikhail Frolov, as well as the Chief State Housing Inspector of Tatarstan Sergey Krainov answered journalist's questions.
With the increase in the rate of gasification, there is an increase in the number of incidents related to the use of household gas. Their number also increases with the onset of cold weather and the heating season.
«Security issues come out on top. Since the beginning of this year, we have had 24 incidents in the republic, 15 of them in multi-apartment housing stock, which indicates the issue of responsibility of residents. Tatarstan is in a high comfort zone for gasification, but the issues of operation of gas equipment require special attention,» Alexey Frolov noted.
Often such incidents are associated with the human factor and the lack of responsibility of homeowners. «According to the degree of improvement, multi—apartment housing is different - there is a central hot water supply, there is housing with gas columns. Unfortunately, these apartments are subject to mass danger both due to the condition of the chimneys and the operation of the gas equipment itself — timely maintenance and sealing,» the first Deputy minister stressed.
According to the head of the State Housing Inspectorate of the Republic of Tatarstan, the number of cases of carbon monoxide poisoning is growing. If up to 30 cases were registered in 2019 and 2020, then almost 50 incidents were recorded in 2021 and 2022.
Accidents can be avoided if you use the rules for using gas at home. The most important measure to prevent possible negative consequences during the operation of gas equipment is the timely maintenance of gas equipment. Many problematic issues are identified and resolved precisely during the scheduled inspection, during which the necessary list of works is performed.
Also an effective solution is the need to install a gas pollution control system in gasified apartments.
