The construction site of Innopolis being supplied with gas

Today, the first stage of the distribution gas line was put into operation at the construction site of new IT-city Innopolis. The gala event, which marked the occurrence of gas supply in the future city, was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov, Director General of “Gazprom Transgaz Kazan” LLC Rafkat Kantyukov.

Today, the first stage of distribution gas line has been put into operation. The length of the first section is 3.3 km, and, in general, a 9 km gas line is to be built within the framework of the four stages. The cost of the construction of the first stage amounted to 63.1 million rubles. In addition, as of today, “Gazprom Transgaz Kazan” LLC provided the funding for design work and production of automated gas distribution station for the larger main gas line. This branch with the length of 46.2 km will be laid to Innopolis from village Uraspugi; the capacity of the main gas line will be 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

“Recently we have had an idea, a dream to build a new IT-city - reminded President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, speaking at the opening ceremony. – Many people said it was absurd, but it is not. So, we have laid the first stone, and now pipeline gas has been supplied hereto”.

Tatarstan President thanked Director General of “Gazprom Transgaz Kazan” LLC Rafkat Kantyukov for his work and Chairman of the Board of “Gazprom” OJSC Aleksei Miller for his support of the project. Separately Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the staff of the Company whose coordinated work ensure uninterrupted gas supply for the Republic.

 Minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov noted the high pace of the construction at the site of Innopolis. “It has been a year, and we see here the most important attribute of any city”, said Nikolai Nikiforov. - We see a large-scale plans for the development of the infrastructure project, and the city is preparing for the fact that in late 2014 - early 2015 it will meet its first residents”.

Nikolai Nikiforov also thanked gas workers for their work. “Now the construction can be continued without stopping, the winter is not a problem anymore, and we are sure that everything will be done in time”, said the Minister.

Director General of “Gazprom Transgaz Kazan” LLC Rafkat Kantyukov said that the current capacity of the distribution gas line would be enough to provide all the facilities of Innopolis in the next two years. And in 2015 the construction of the main gas pipeline is to be completed.

At the end of the official part Rustam Minnikhanov, Nikolai Nikiforov and Rafkat Kantyukov lit a symbolic gas torch marking the launch of a new gas line.
