A new water treatment plant built according to the national project has started operating in Nurlat

Today, the launch of a new water supply system with a water intake node took place in the city of Nurlat of the Republic of Tatarstan. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin.

The new facility was built within the framework of the federal Clean Water program of the national Housing and Urban Environment project. The water treatment plant will provide high-quality drinking water to 32 thousand residents of the city of Nurlat.

The former city water intake was built back in the 70s of the last century. The facility was in disrepair and did not provide reliable and high-quality water supply. Drastic solutions to the problem of water supply in Nurlat were required.

Marat Aizatullin noted that the construction of the water treatment plant began in the spring of 2022. During the implementation of the program, 27 kilometers of water supply networks were built, 2 water intakes consisting of 6 wells were built. The capacity of the new station is 10 thousand cubic meters per day.

In the future, the settlements nearby to Nurlat will also be connected to the new water supply system.

"During the implementation of the national project, 6 drinking water supply facilities have been built in the republic, and 4 of them - only this year. In addition to the city of Nurlat, a new water treatment plant has appeared in the Alekseevsky municipal district, water supply networks have been built in the villages of Surovka and Belous of the Tukayevsky district," Marat Aizatullin noted.

The launch ceremony was attended by the head of the Nurlat municipal district Damir Ishkineev Damir, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Irek Gilmutdinov and others.
