The Head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in a session dedicated to modern urban agglomerations

Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services Marat Aizatullin delivered a welcoming speech at the session "Challenges and Opportunities of urban agglomerations in the XXI century" within the framework of the XV International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum 2024".

Marat Aizatullin noted the success of the republic's construction complex. According to him, over 5 years, the increase in housing construction amounted to 1 million square meters – from 2.4 to 3.4 million square meters.meters. In addition, state and republican programs for the construction and repair of social and engineering infrastructure are being successfully implemented, with funding amounting to more than 120 billion rubles. And the volume of work in construction exceeded 700 billion rubles by the end of 2023.

With such a scale of construction, it is necessary to synchronize with the development of social, engineering and transport infrastructure, as well as places of employment. "This synchronization is currently possible only within the framework of agglomeration development, given that today large cities have gone beyond administrative boundaries in their development," the minister noted.

In this regard, the Institute of Spatial Planning was established in the Republic of Tatarstan at the end of 2022. First of all, to develop a master plan for the capital of Tatarstan and the surrounding areas, which are part of the Kazan agglomeration.

Oleg Grigoriev, Director of the Institute of Spatial Planning, also took part in the session. He spoke about the work of the institute, the peculiarities of the master planning of the Kazan agglomeration.

The session was also attended by Sergey Muzychenko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, and others.
