Recultivation of sludge fields of biological treatment facilities in Kazan has been completed by 76%. The work is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga River" of the national project "Ecology".
The silt fields of Kazan are located within the boundaries of the Privolzhsky district of the capital on the shore of the Kuibyshev reservoir (the Volga River is the largest waterway of the district).
Silt fields with surface drainage of silt water are designed to dry raw sediment and stabilize dehydrated sewage sludge undergoing complete biological treatment at sewage treatment plants in Kazan, and represent systems of planned maps fenced with earthen dams and combined into cascades.
Since 1974, the fields of biological treatment plants have been filled with sludge from wastewater, and since 2012, including dehydrated sludge. The volume of silt deposits in accordance with the surveys is 3,987,348 m3.
The main task of the project "Recultivation of silt fields of biological treatment facilities in Kazan" is the elimination of accumulated environmental damage.
