Rustam Minnikhanov, accompanied by Eduard Khialeev, Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, and Marat Aizatullin, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited the institutions of the penitentiary department - pre-trial detention centers No. 1 and No. 2 stationed in Kazan, and also got acquainted with the construction of a new pre-trial detention center.
The detention center on Gudovantseva Street is planned to be put into operation in 2025. A checkpoint, an administrative building, and 6 security buildings, including for women and minors, are located on a 15-hectare site. There is a separate building for long and short visits with laundry, kitchen, dining room, garage, as well as food and clothing warehouses.
In addition, a cynological service building is being built on the territory of the pre-trial detention center, a training camp for the personnel of the isolation unit with an obstacle course and a drill ground, as well as a sports building for employees with a shooting range, a gym and a wrestling hall. The filling limit of the new pre-trial detention center in Kazan is designed for 1000 places.
Upon completion of the tour, Rustam Minnikhanov noted the positive dynamics in terms of the timing of construction and installation work.
