More than 1.5 thousand Kazan students of grades 3-4 took part in an interactive educational quest on the basics of housing and communal services - "Our work is your comfort".
The initiator of the project is the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan, with the support of the Department of Education of the Executive Committee of Kazan.
The game format allowed students to get acquainted with the basics of housing and communal services, as well as to gain practical skills and abilities that are necessary when consuming resources supplied to homes by housing and communal enterprises and paying for their services.
To get acquainted with all the services in the receipt for payment of housing and communal services, students were invited to visit 5 stations, where they could learn about each service individually and perform practical tasks in an interactive form. So, at the Heating and Gas station, they learned where heat and gas come from in the house, when the heating season begins, how best to save it, etc. At the Water Supply station - how water enters the house and why it tastes different. In addition, the children were shown the process of mechanical and biological water purification. At the Power Supply station, they clearly showed what electricity is and where it comes from. At the station "Cleaning and garbage collection" - how and why it is necessary to sort garbage and what are secondary material resources. At the station "Maintenance of residential premises" - what is included in this concept, which specialists ensure the operability of various systems, as well as equipped an "ideal courtyard" and assembled a mock-up of a drainage scheme.
After visiting the stations, the participants reflected on the possible consequences of stopping the supply of vital resources to apartment buildings, such as, for example, water and electricity, what are the ways to save resources, etc. The children were also taught how to take meter readings and fill out a receipt for housing and communal services.
At the end of the training event, each student received a memo with useful information on the topic of housing and communal services.
