Kazan will host the regional day of the forum "Small Motherland – the Strength of Russia"

27 January 2025, Monday

The regional day of the II All–Russian Municipal Forum "Small Motherland - the Strength of Russia" will be held in Kazan on January 29 and 30. More than 500 representatives of federal, regional and local authorities, architects, planners, urban planners, experts in the field of urban planning and territorial development will come to the capital of Tatarstan to exchange best practices in the field of urban development and formation of the urban environment. Damir Shaidullin, First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan, told about this at a press conference in Tatar-inform.

"The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the leaders in creating a comfortable urban environment in Russia, so the regional day, which will be held in our republic on January 29-30, is dedicated to creating a comfortable environment for residents. The participants of this event will be able to discuss current challenges, find partners and get acquainted with the best practices aimed at sustainable development of the territory," the Deputy minister said.

First, on January 29, a business mission will take place during the day, in which the guests of the republic will get acquainted with the experience of creating a comfortable environment, public spaces and iconic objects of Kazan. On January 30, the business part of the regional day will take place, participants will work on strategic and plenary sessions, and will take part in discussions.

Tatarstan representatives will tell, in particular, about the "Our Yard" program initiated by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and about the creation of a design code for cities, said Nailya Zinatullina, Director of the Institute for Urban Development of the Republic of Tatarstan.

"Of course, it is important to raise the question of whether there are limits to the federal project "Comfortable Urban Environment", because it seems that all regions are accustomed to the fact that such typical projects as streets, squares, squares and parks are being implemented within it. But in fact, the Republic of Tatarstan already has extensive experience in implementing very different types of projects. Of course, this is accompanied by complex legal issues that relate to the status of land plots and the further transfer of these territories to the balance sheet. Here we will raise the issue jointly with the Ministry of Construction, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, about what amendments should be introduced into the current rules for the implementation of such a program so that the whole country can work on atypical public spaces within the framework of the FCGS, " the speaker noted.

Tatarstan will become the second of 16 regions selected by the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government (VARMSU) for the regional days of the forum "Small Motherland – the strength of Russia". The first such day has already been held in the Murmansk region.

"It is very important not to study the experience of Europe and the West, but to see the experience inside the country. And Tatarstan, of course, is number one in preparing documents, introducing new projects, and using modern technologies. And, of course, it is very important for us that the resolution on the results of the two days contains specific proposals for fine-tuning the regulatory framework. I know that once people come to Kazan, they will always come here, but with their families and children. And we want this platform to be also for acquaintance, the development of domestic tourism," concluded Irina Guseva, co–chair of the VARMSU.
