An off-site meeting of the headquarters in the framework of Incident No. 55 was held today at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan, the main topic of which was the assessment and improvement of the efficiency of the treatment facilities built and reconstructed within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being". The event was held via videoconference with the connection of all regions of Russia.
The meeting was led by Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Maxim Korolkov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, and Alexey Yeresko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation. First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin took part in the work.
Before the meeting, the participants visited a number of key facilities, including the BOSC treatment facilities in Kazan and other facilities built under the national project.
Alexey Yeresko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation, noted the high level of organization of the event in Tatarstan and stressed the correctness of choosing the republic as a positive example for holding a field headquarters.
Rustam Nigmatullin said that Tatarstan is showing good results in achieving the regulatory parameters of wastewater treatment plants included in the federal project "Improving the Volga River". Of the 15 facilities under monitoring, all regulatory indicators have been achieved for 12. Confirmation of compliance with the standards is expected for two facilities.
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan emphasized that thanks to the systematic work of the federal and republican headquarters in the framework of Incident No. 55, it was possible to study the problems of operating sewage treatment plants more deeply and significantly increase their efficiency. Despite the successes achieved, there is still an understanding of the existing challenges, and Tatarstan is open to sharing experiences with other regions that demonstrate best practices in this area.
Within the framework of the federal project "Improving the Volga" of the national project "Ecology" for 2019-2024, 13 sewage treatment plants were built (reconstructed) in the Volga basin of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Yelabuga (I, II stage), Zainsk, Tetyushi, Krasny Bor village of the Agryzsky municipal district, Alekseevskoye village, Vasilyevo village and Nizhniye Vyazovye village of Zelenodolsk municipal district, Yurtovo village of Menzelinsky municipal district, Pestretsy village and Koshchakovo village of Pestrechinsky district).
In 2024, the reconstruction of biological sewage treatment plants in Kazan, which are among the top 200 major pollutants of the Volga River, was completed (implementation period is 2021-2024). As a result, the environmental living conditions for the population of the republic totaling more than 2.3 million people have been improved.
