The pace of construction of affordable housing in the regions of the Volga will increase.

Mikhail Babich held a meeting on issues of housing construction in the regions of the Volga Federal district and implementation of the provisions of the Federal law "On amendments to the Land code of the Russian Federation and certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation" and visited the new district comprehensive residential development "Solnechy-2". Deputy Minister of RF Andrew Chibis took part in the meeting.  The participants discussed measures to be taken at the Federal and regional levels, to increase the construction of economy-class housing in the framework of the implementation of the presidential Decree from May 7, 2012.  Mikhail Babich informed the participants that in the Volga region for 8 months of the current year it was commissioned in about 1 million square meters of affordable housing segment, which is 55 percent more than last year. Leaders in the volume of housing construction in the district are of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan (1.5 million square meters). In order housing are available to residents it is important to take measures to reduce its cost. The programme "Housing for Russian family" organized for that. During the meeting it was discussed the problems in the sphere of housing construction. Mikhail Babich noted that it is necessary to substantially increase the proportion of construction of economy-class housing in the total volume of construction, regardless of the overall economic situation to ensure affordability of housing for certain categories of citizens, and greater use of auctions for "Dutch" scheme.
