On September 9, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of President’s Administrative Office Asgat Safarov, Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in opening of a new ice palace “Zolotaya shaiba” in Kazan.
The new palace comprises an ice rink, gym, aerobics hall, and other premises. 100 mln roubles were allocated for the construction works when Tatarstan team “Kazan dragons” won Russian National Amateur Ice Hockey Teams' Festival in 2013. Additional funds were provided by the region.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed everyone who attended the opening ceremony and said he is proud to see that ice hockey is developing in the republic. He also thanked “Kazan dragons” team and wished them to have more victories in future.
Ilsur Metshin, in his turn, mentioned that the sports complex opened in one of the most densely populated areas in the city, which will help to promote ice hockey among young people.
The three-storey school building with a total area of 2,574 square meters was built in 1978. A significant amount of work has been carried out here: the facade and roof, the entrance group, and the engineering and technical support networks have been repaired.
In the three-storey building, the builders renovated the premises with a total area of 2,400 sq. m. The children's, diagnostic, surgical, inpatient, therapeutic departments and the operating unit have been updated here.
