Tatarstan plans to build 45 rural culture centers

3 March 2016, Thursday

In 2016, 45 rural culture centres are scheduled for construction in Tatarstan within a target plan. Tatarstan’s Deputy Construction, Architecture and Housing Minister Almaz Akhmetshin said it at a press conference earlier in the day.

“The Rural Club plan was developed late in 2011 and commenced in 2012. Over this time, 2012 to 2015, 186 rural community clubs seating 40,000 have been built. The total financing of construction and putting into operation has been 2,300,000 roubles,” the speaker said.

He went on to specify that three clubs had been built outside the plan, jointly by investors and region’s authorities, whilst another two within a target plan within an agreement between Russian Culture Ministry and Tatarstan Cabinet. In both cases, the region’s budget covered half of the costs.

“The clubs built within the federal plan are sufficiently large. Each of them costs some 100 million roubles. The two culture centres were constructed in Aznakaevo and Buinsk. They are modern beautiful buildings,” Almaz Akhmetshin reported.

Besides, 28 rural culture centres underwent major renovation in 2015. Almaz Akhmetshin said the construction of five centres in the Nurlat and Kukmor regions had first been suspended and they had later been put into operation the year before.

Most clubs were built within one season, between spring and autumn, allowing to economise substantially on construction sites and step up community and cultural activities, the official added.

In 2016, 45 rural culture centres seating 3,100 worth 287.3 million roubles are expected to be built.

Almaz Akhmetshin stressed the ministry welcomed private investments, while the government was willing to incentivise the investors.
